On Friday, March 29, a tornado tore across northern Mississippi flattening the entire town of Rolling Fork, MS, including Chuck’s Dairy Bar. Moments before the tornado hit, owners Tracy and Tim Harden rushed their staff into the restaurant’s walk-in cooler. When they stepped out, everything was completely destroyed. The only things left standing were the refrigerator and a bathroom. Their act of heroism saved multiple lives during the storm that leveled their iconic eatery that has fed farmers and locals for decades.
Chuck’s Dairy Bar has been a mainstay in Rolling Fork for nearly 60 years. Chuck’s is a place that people can depend on for more than just food. Whether it’s providing a free meal when a customer is unable to pay, delivering food to seniors and people in need, organizing community fundraisers and clothing drives, giving cookies and hot chocolate to local kids over the holidays, or the simple act of listening to customers, the restaurant truly transcends the traditional dining experience. It’s the place to go if you’re hurting or happy, and want to share the news. It’s that place to go to be loved on and be comforted during anything,
Tracy and Tim’s quick action saved lives during the tornado but they’ve been showing love through Chuck’s Dairy Bar for years. They care so much for the town but now they need your help to rebuild Chuck’s and this beloved gathering spot for the Rolling Fork community.
